Those interested in pursuing a career as a Private Investigator in Queensland must hold a PI Licence pursuant to the Security Providers Act 1993 (Qld). Licensing is regulated by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General. To successfully apply for a PI Licence you must first attain a Certificate III in Investigative Services (the Department of Justice and Attorney-General can provide you with a list of accredited training providers) and then undergo government security clearance procedures.

If you are interested in pursuing a career as a Commercial Agent (Process Server) then you should contact the Department of Justice and Attorney-General for more information regarding licensing requirements.
